      This netbook and its battery life are just as advertised if you are just surfing the net. Adding an external disk drive halves that. You need to let the battery charge up first, then completely discharge down to nothing then recharge it to get the full 9 hours out of it.

      Use mine mainly for email, web surfing and documents. Love it! Does everything my old laptop did at half the weight and half the price. My battery lasts longer than 3 hours - a big help when traveling. Much easier when going through airport security. And, it is pretty too!

      Overall this netbook does exactly what I was hoping for. Quick and easy setup. It is rather fast once I removed some of the nonsense ACER puts on this machine.
